Facebook Payday – A Great Resource for Facebook Marketing Virtual Assistants

As many of you know, we did a teleseminar last week titled, “How Virtual Assistants Can Profit from the Social Media Explosion in 2008″. This teleseminar event was very well attended and we are still receiving great feedback and questions which is cool! You can access a recording of the event through our VAClassroom Membership Site.

One of the topics I discussed in this teleseminar was the rapidly growing opportunities for Web Savvy Virtual Assistants to position themselves as Facebook Marketing VAs. We discussed the different services you might offer clients seeking to leverage this channel such as:

  • Setting up and managing Facebook profiles.
  • Coordinating Facebook Events.
  • Moderating and participating in targeted Facebook groups.
  • Inviting and adding new business friends for your clients.
  • Creating and managing Facebook business pages for your clients.

The list goes on…..

One of the advanced services we discussed involved implementing and managing Facebook Pay Per Click Ad campaigns which are becoming increasingly popular. A handful of Internet business owners are generating some excellent profits through this channel.

A Business Collegue of mine, Peter Koning, has just launched an ebook and membership site called Facebook Payday. I have had a chance to review some of this resource and it is very impressive. The ebook will provide you with some of the skills and knowledge required to set-up and manage successful PPC ad campaign through Facebook.

If you are seeking to grow a Facebook Marketing niche for your business then Facebook Payday is definitely worth checking out!

Managing your Social Network Profiles Just Got Easier!

Now, I know that many of you are Twitterers, Facebookers, or have Linkedin Profiles. I don’t know about you, but it is becoming increasingly more challenging to manage and update the many Social Media Accounts we all currently have.

Well, there is hope. There are three great web tools worth checking out that offer a one-stop solution to managing all your social media accounts – phew!!!

FriendFeed and Tabber are Social Media Aggregator tools that allow you to manage and update your accounts in one easy location. Some of you may be offering “Online Presence Management” services to your clients in which you set-up and manage their many different social network profiles. Well, Tabber and FriendFeed will simplify your life by allowing you to track and update your own social media accounts as well as your clients in one user-friendly platform.

Check out this great post: Managing your Social Network Connections from One Location - Blogger, Nora Rubinoff provides a nice comparison between Tabber and FriendFeed.

In addition, the Social Media Browser, Flock, is another great way to stay in tune with all your social network connections. Flock is an actual browser that allows you to monitor sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Blogger and many others. Flock is a great tool, but presently, does not service a few key business networks like Linkedin as well as top social media news sites such as Digg and Stumbleupon.

Gotta love Web 2.0 Technology – simple web apps that enhance your productivity and reduce your time spent networking!

A Virtual Assistant Case Study

I want to share a case study with you that clearly shows the huge value that Virtual Assistants can play in any Internet Business. This particular case study details a woman I hired while working with a mid-sized Internet company a few years ago. She had developed some niche skills in a number of areas such as Affiliate Marketing, Ad Campaign Management as well as Web Analytics Reporting. The company I worked for eventually experienced some significant down-sizing; however, this particular Virtual Assistant’s contract was retained primarily due to her versatility and understanding in these niche areas. Check out the YouTube Video below.

VAClassroom Social Media Teleseminar Event

We are excited to tell you about the upcoming teleseminar event at VAClassroom.com:

“How Virtual Assistants Can Profit from the Social Media Explosion in 2008 and Beyond!”

As mentioned in a previous post, one of the fastest growing areas on the Net right now is the exploding Social Media Movement. Internet businesses are very enthusiastic about leveraging the potential of many top social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube, Digg and LinkedIn, but find it difficult to muster up enough hours in a day to perform all the necessary Social Media Marketing activities.

Talk about a huge “in-demand” niche for Virtual Assistants!

This is precisely what we will be covering in the upcoming 1 hour teleseminar event at VAClassroom slated for May 19th at 6pm PST (9pm EST).

This FREE teleseminar will essentially be a mini-course based on one of the courses offered from our soon to be released VAClassroom Training Center!

5 Reasons I Love Online Learning!

I should begin this post with a disclaimer…. I am not anti-traditional learning, but rather pro web-based learning!! I have had the privilege of being able to spend a number of years at traditional University completing my Bachelor’s Degree as well as doing some Post Graduate studies. My experience at University without a doubt taught me alot and shaped who I am today.  However, now looking back, the one thing that I question is the many required courses I took that provided minimal or no skills or knowledge that I was able to practically use in the workforce!

Can you relate? Have you ever taken a course only to find out that you actually didn’t gain any marketable skills that would translate to real work opportunities? I think about the financial investment for my schooling and the reality that only a small percentage of the courses really provided transferable skills to work.

Needless to say, I am rather pumped about the exciting shifts we are seeing in online education.

Let me tell you 5 Reasons I LOVE Online Learning…

1. Online Learning is MORE current! It is a known fact that many post-secondary curriculums do not evolve rapidly from year to year. I recall purchasing my share of $100 “new edition” textbooks that really had the same content as the year before – hmmm. In an online learning model, the content is fluid and easily changeable to keep as current and relevant as possible. Just think of the “Internet Business” many of us are involved in.  This industry has evolved at such a rapid pace that traditional education models simply would not work. However, Web-based learning models are more fluid and can be changed on the fly in order to address new demands!

2. Online Learning is MORE flexible! I personally appreciate the self-directed, learn at your pace model that many online learning portals offer.

3. Online learning is MORE cost-effective! I think of the many free and low-cost webinars that have provided me with an abundance of tools and knowledge that I am currently using in my business! I purchased a few higher cost industry specific web courses, but the tuition prices still did not even come close to what you would pay currently at many post-secondary institutes.

4. Online Learning is MORE skills-focused! Years ago, I think credentials were more important to Employers and Businesses then they are now (except of course if you are Google – they like Stanford Grads:) ).  Internet Businesses in particular are looking for people that have the skills to do the job! The traditional university model is “Knowledge-based” as opposed to “Skill-based” which has been to the detriment of many graduates who left University with few transferable work skills. The online learning opportunities I have been personally involved with have been much more skill-based and relevant to the industry I currently work in.

5. Online Learning is MORE interactive! You might be thinking… Craig, how can online learning be more interactive then face-to-face classroom interaction. Well, many online learning models currently offer online discussion forums, live chat, ongoing Q&As with instructors. As well, online learning enables you to collaborate with a larger group of people at once. In traditional settings, you really can’t have a group much bigger then 4 or 5 as someone eventually gets lost in the shuffle. With an Online Learning Model, you can be talking with many different people from different parts of the world simulateneously which is cool!

At VAClassroom, we have rigorously studied online learning models over the past year to identify those elements that would make the most effective learning environment. We are excited to “open our virtual doors” to a new online learning environment for Virtual Assistants coming up in the middle of May – more details to follow. But I do have to say, that given my own experiences with traditional education, I am much more militant about offering courses that actually provide tangible skills that you will be able to take and apply to your Virtual Assistant business – this is key!

The Niche Opportunities for Virtual Assistants in the Fast Growing Social Media Landscape

Over the last 18 months, I have become an incurable learner on the exploding Social Media Movement and the profound impact it can have for Internet Business Owners like myself. I have digested blog posts, articles, webinars and even wrote a couple of my own articles pertaining to Social Media. (Check out my SiteProNews Article, “Is Social Media Marketing really worth your time and effort?”).  My overwhelming conclusion is that Social Media Marketing is a MUST for all business owners in order to realize their full potential in 2008 and beyond!

We are currently seeing a major shift in thinking among Internet Businesses pertaining to Social Media. In 2007, businesses were asking the question (with skepticism): “Can Social Media Marketing really do anything for my business? Is there any value in hanging out in Facebook groups, commenting on blogs, networking in Linked.com and sharing my videos in YouTube? I think that question has been effectively answered by many of the Industry experts who have openly endorsed Social Media Marketing as a powerful business building channel.

The real question Internet Businesses are asking now is: “Okay, we see that Social Media Marketing is a GOOD thing, but how the heck do we find the time to actually carry out all these important Social Media Marketing activities????

The answer……Virtual Assistants who have tapped in to this exploding Social Media Niche. There are Virtual Assistants who are becoming specialists in editing, producing and syndicating videos to all the major video-sharing sites. There are others who are Facebook experts who know the “ins and outs” on building industry-specific groups, business facebook pages and even setting up and managing Pay Per Click Facebook campaigns.

There is even the whole emerging trend of “Presence Managers” where businesses hire a Virtual Assistant to represent or even be them in the various social networks they are targeting. Now, there are some ethical issues with that one, but a growing area for sure!

Given that Social Media is continuing to experience explosive growth, there are no shortage of opportunities for Virtual Assistants to tap into this niche.

So, with my collective passion for Social Media and Virtual Assistants, I have decided to run a teleseminar that might interest you, titled:

How Virtual Assistants can profit from the Social Media Explosion in 2008″.

This will essentially be a “mini-lesson” taken in part from the upcoming release of the Internet Marketing VA Training Program at VAClassroom.com.  Also on the call, we will be making an important announcement and special offer regarding the launch of VAClassroom.com, so certainly worth checking out

Please stay tuned to this blog over the next day or so as I will provide some more concrete details on how you can get signed up for this important teleseminar!
